WHY ARE YOU READING THIS?

So, you dream of being a writer or a successful entrepreneur?

Then you’ve come to the right place. In today’s article, I’ll teach you the tried & tested ways to staying at home, ensuring nobody values your work and guaranteeing you’ll never earn a single penny from your efforts. Sound good?

Excellent — first thing, stop reading this and go and check your TikTok or scroll through Instagram as that’s more important.

Key Takeaways:

  • Succumb to procrastination and avoid actually doing any work by sticking with your mindset. After all, it has done you wonders so far, right?
  • Prioritise short-term distractions over long-term activities to decrease productivity. You MUST watch another TikTok on that cat’s story & then you’ll get to work…
  • Don’t schedule dedicated working time to avoid establishing a habit. This could prove counter-productive to you achieving anything.
  • Reward yourself after indulging in procrastination activities with more of the same. It’s important for you to feel happy and content before you start to work. You’ll get to it.
  • Continue to say negative things about successful people and how they’ve not had as hard a life as you. Negativity is an important part of the formula — who else is doing exactly the same, stuck in a similar situation?

Succumb to Procrastination

When it comes to work, staying focused and organised can be a real challenge.

As a worker myself, I understand the temptation of procrastination. So what do I do? I allow it to beat me.

One of the key strategies for overcoming procrastination is to prioritise your goals. By identifying what’s most important and breaking it down into manageable tasks, you can stay on track and avoid getting overwhelmed. Organise your tasks effectively by creating a to-do list or using a project management tool to keep yourself accountable.

But, why would you want to do that? Relaxing and thinking about what you will achieve next year is so much easier.

Focus On…I’ve Forgotten

They say you should be like a camera and focus.

You could minimise distractions by creating a dedicated space that is free from interruptions. Turn off notifications on your phone and use internet blockers to resist the temptation of browsing social media or checking emails. Keep your brain focused on the project at hand, the others can wait.

Or can they? You should probably just go and make another cup of tea — that will help you think and achieve.

Start At The Beginning. And Stay There

“A” is at the start of the alphabet after all and that’s doing pretty well for itself…

Remember, starting is often the hardest part. You could set aside dedicated writing time and commit to a regular schedule. Whether it’s early in the morning or late at night, there might be a time that works best for you.

Or you could complain to your friend again that you have ‘writer’s block’ or ‘lazyitis’ and the situation and timing just isn’t perfect. After all, Stephen King, Agatha Christie, George RR Martin etc were gifted magical timing, so it’s not fair you haven’t either.

The Final Word

I did intend to write more, but my washing machine has just finished its cycle…
