1 Reason Why Your Competitors Are Making Money on LinkedIn and You Aren’t
LinkedIn can be a powerful tool to win new clients & make a lot of money.
Notice how I said ‘can’ rather than ‘is’? Many people don’t know how to fully embrace it and use it to their advantage. Heck, since posting this, I’ve already had a handful of people contact me about helping them do the same.

LinkedIn is a powerful platform for building your personal brand, generating leads, and growing your network. To stand out from the crowd and get more engagement on your posts, you need to do a few things. I’ll be posting a step-by-step guide to completing these in a future post, but for now let’s cover the elephant in the room.
YOUR ENGAGEMENT SUCKS!
Answer the next few questions honestly:
- Do you engage with other’s posts with insightful comments that add value?
- Do you tag relevant people in your posts?
- Do you join and participate in relevant industry groups?
If the answer to ALL the above isn’t a resounding YES, then we’ve got a place to start…
Engage with Others in Your Industry
Networking and building relationships are essential for success on LinkedIn. By engaging with others in your industry, you can establish credibility, expand your network, and create valuable connections.
One effective way to engage with others is by commenting on their posts. Take the time to read their content thoroughly and provide thoughtful, meaningful comments that add value to the conversation. This not only shows your interest and knowledge but also helps to initiate discussions and build relationships.
Another great way to engage is by sharing others’ content. When you come across an article, blog post, or video that resonates with you or your target audience, share it on your LinkedIn feed. Be sure to provide your own insights or opinions to add value and start conversations. This not only helps to promote others but also positions you as a valuable resource within your industry.
Join relevant conversations
I’m in the process of launching my new brand, BlackBee Agency, so have created a relevant LinkedIn group.
Why have I done this? Well think of it as a perfect pot of potential leads & new clients. They join. We engage. I add value. We work together.
Simple, right? So why isn’t everyone doing it?
Well, most people don’t do it very well & that’s the harsh truth.
LinkedIn groups and industry-specific forums are excellent places to join conversations and engage with like-minded professionals. Look for groups that align with your interests and expertise and actively participate in discussions. Share your insights, ask questions, and offer support to others. This not only helps to showcase your knowledge but also allows you to connect with potential clients, partners, and influencers.
LinkedIn’s advanced search features are a powerful tool for finding and connecting with professionals in your industry. Use specific keywords, job titles, and location filters to narrow down your search. This will help you find potential clients, partners, or influencers who could benefit from your expertise or collaborate with you on future projects.
When connecting with them, be sure to personalise your invitation and explain why you want to connect. This personalised approach shows that you’re genuinely interested in building a meaningful professional relationship.
