RECRUITMENT HORROR STORY (PART 1) 🔪 😰

I was once told I would be joining a company that operated a flexible working policy. Work from home when you wanted. Work from a cafe. Work from the pub. Just get the job done.

The only stipulation was every Monday in the office for ‘team bonding’. That’s ok, I thought. It’s nice not to stare at the inside of my house EVERY day…

First two quarters were done. Ahead of target. Lovely jubbly.

It was that time of the week. Friday catch up with my ‘boss’. I was sat in a lovely cafe garden, the sun was shining, the laptop was open & candidates were at interviews. Pipeline was STRONG 💪

The look on his face was anything, but happy.

Why are you at a cafe? You look happy. You look like you’re enjoying yourself. Are you working? The questions and looks oozed out like a burst septic pustule.

Some very strange & demeaning conversations followed with other Senior Managers & HR. That’s when I knew this wasn’t what I had signed up for…

Needless to say, I left.

Experienced something similar? Please let us know 😅
